What is a colour label printer?
An inkjet label printer that prints full-colour labels on demand from blank label stock, so colour designs, pictures and pictograms no longer have to be ordered pre-printed.
Can colour labels be used for GHS chemical labelling?
Yes. Epson says the pigment inks in the ColorWorks C6050A and C6550A meet BS 5609 for GHS-compliant drum labels, used with suitable synthetic label stock.
Which ColorWorks model should I choose?
The C4050 is the compact 4-inch model for lower volumes. The C6050A prints 4-inch labels faster and at higher volume, and the C6550A prints labels up to 8 inches wide. All three have an auto-cutter.
Do colour label printers print barcodes?
Yes. All three print 1D and 2D barcodes, including QR Code, Data Matrix and GS1 codes, alongside the colour design.
