What is a rugged tablet?
A tablet built for work outside the office: sealed against dust and water, tested to survive drops and vibration, with a screen that can be used with gloves or wet hands and a battery that can be swapped.
Can a rugged tablet scan barcodes?
Yes. The Unitech PA720T Plus reads 1D, 2D and postal codes using two dedicated scan keys, so it can replace a separate scanner and computer for stock checks and order taking.
Should I choose Android or Windows?
Choose Android for purpose-built apps managed through an MDM such as SOTI or AirWatch. Choose Windows when staff need to run the same Windows software they use at a desk, such as an ERP client or browser-based system.
Rugged tablet or handheld mobile computer?
A handheld mobile computer suits all-day scanning in one hand. A rugged tablet suits work that needs a larger screen, such as forms, pictures, maps, signatures or showing a customer an order.
