The Epson ColorWorks C4050 is an on-demand colour label printer for high-mix, low-volume labelling in food and beverage, healthcare, logistics and retail. Its PrecisionCore Micro TFP printhead prints at up to 1200 x 1200 dpi and up to about 100 mm per second, so short runs and one-off labels no longer need pre-printed stock.
Four separate CMYK ink cartridges are each replaced only when empty, with a choice of matte or gloss black. It takes roll, fanfold, die-cut and continuous labels on plain, matte, glossy and synthetic stock, checks and cleans its own nozzles, and has a user-replaceable auto-cutter and a 2.7" colour display. It connects over USB and Ethernet, with Wi-Fi as an option.
